IMPORTANT HOUSE RULES / INFORMATION
Welcome to Seyalan and thank you for choosing us. Seyalan is named after the
most common Acacia tree in the region (Acacia Seyal).
1.BOOKING.We are a booking ONLY camp. House reservation is only done upon
payment of deposit. Check out time-11 a.m., Check in time-12 md.Late check
outs can be discussed with management. Please note late night check ins are
not allowed.
2.GROUP BOOKINGS. All groups must provide a team leader who takes
responsibility for his/her team. ALL guests must sign in on arrival
3.RATES.House prices are displayed in the website. The prices are standard for
both local and international guests. Weekdays run from Sunday to Thursday
and weekends are Friday and Saturdays. Holiday rates only apply to Kenyan
holidays.
4.ENVIRONMENT. Please keep the environment litter free and use the
provided litter bins. Seyalan is rocky, you are expected to be careful to avoid
injuries. Walk along the cleared paths. Night walks are not allowed.
5.WEATHER. We are on the leeward side of the ngong hills.The days can be
very hot and the evenings are windy and chilly, please dress appropriately.
It’s a good idea to carry a cap.
6.SWIMMING POOL. Note there is NO life guard in the pool. Children
should be supervised while in the pool-No diving. – No swimming at night –
No swimming when drunk.
7.SOLAR POWER. We are an echo themed camp with all our lighting and
charging needs being powered by solar energy and biomas. Heavy power
usage (iron box, blenders, heaters, microwaves etc.) are not allowed in the
camp since they heavily drain the batteries.
8.OVEN.All houses have gas oven. Charcoal grills are also available on
request. (Kindly carry own charcoal)
9.BONFIRE. Firewood will be provided at 500 shs per bunch. Kindly
pay through the official pay bill or till number. No CASH transactions.
10.ACCOUNTABILITY. Any malicious damages of the camps property will
be billed by management to the guests.
11.CHILDREN. Supervise any child/dependent you come with to the camp for
safety in the compound and in the pool.
12.ILLEGAL DRUGS/BREW. not allowed in the camp
13.SMOKING. No smoking in the houses or the bush. Smoking only allowed
in open areas and kindly avoid discarding hot filters that can cause bush
fire.
14.NOISE POLLUTION. Loud music and noise should be contained in
your respective houses and not interfere with other guests especially at
night.
15.SMALL DAM. Guests not allowed around the dam, same
secured. No jumping or diving allowed in the plunge pool.
16.HOT SHOWERS. This are availed at specific hours, kindly take
note. Morning—-8.00 AM-10.00 AM Evening—7.00 PM-9.00 PM.
17.HIKiNG.We have a community run private Ngong hill hike from
the camp. Hike details (Max Elevation-2,450 M ASL, Elevation gain-
700 M, Terrain-Bushy, Duration-5 hrs, Intensity-Moderate to high,
Community fee-1000 kshs). All hikers MUST be accompanied by a
community guide.
